Photos Finally!

This is something I have been wanting to do for years now and finally it's happening.

Live Steamy will have it's book someday!  We tried again for the photo shoot that we had to cancel a few days ago. We had some scattered thunder storms this afternoon and I was really afraid we would have to cancel again and run the risk of not being able to shoot with this model, Miss Chelsea. Which would have been such a shame because she did great! She was so sweet and a real pleasure to work with. I had her modeling a white skirt, lace parasol, gloves, hair bow and fan all decked out in round, gold studs paired with white and blue striped corset top and shoes. She also modeled my crab necklace and again her lovely tanned skin it was perfect.
We did several shots around an huge piece of old driftwood. Got her walking on the beach. Up against an awesome rusted pillar. And then we tossed her in the ocean and took away some of that sweetness with a dripping wet, hiked up skirt.
Chelsea really did such a good job! I hope I get the chance to do more work with her and I hope she continues to pursue modeling. And my photographer, Darryl! I cannot say enough about him. He is such a pleasure to work with and his shots were fantastic! I think I finally have all the perfect pieces for this project.

I will share some photos as soon as I get them! But here is a snap shot of the crab necklace that I mentioned.  Have such a good night everyone!!

Art Table Cleanup

Sound effect: chimes go Whaawaawwaaaa.

I love the rain. Like absurdly, insatiably, usually love the rain. But today, oh yes today, I am not such a fan. Sigh.

We had to cancel the photo shoot. :(

But I did get to clean my art table!  See I have proof. Before and After pics. So at least the day wasn't an entire waste of creative venture.

Photoshoot

Today is our first photo shoot for my big Live Steamy project. We are going to be doing a whole series of photo shoots focusing on the art and clothing made by yours truly and modeled by many different girls who are volunteering for the project. I've been wanting and trying to do this for a few years now but the pieces didn't fully come together until now. The idea is to get really unique pictures that showcase my art and design work and then hopefully turn it all into a big book. :D I'm also just really happy to be working with the models and getting them experience and great photos that they can use in their portfolios and more.

I'm so excited! We have a great photographer and now being in Savannah we have the opportunity to shoot in such amazing places. Everyone involved is really putting heart and energy in. It's such an awesome blessing.

Today we will be shooting with the sweetheart, Miss Chelsea, out on Tybee beach. And I'm just praying it doesn't rain as Savannah has been having tropical storms. But who knows maybe it will pour buckets and we will get some great wet shots instead. After all, when the wind starts to blow you have to bend or you'll break, right? ;)

I will update how the shoot went when we get back this evening! Wish us luck and good shooting!

First Post!

First of all I must thank my oldest, best friend for helping me so much in getting all this set up. She is totally awesome!!

Travis, my fiance, says I’m gushing so much excitement that he thinks he may need an umbrella. And it’s true, I am so excited about starting this blog and connecting through Facebook and getting my work up on etsy. This is another big step on what has been a really amazing journey!

So things about me that may be relevant; or may be crazy babble, of course you take or leave all that you like. I’m a Scorpio/Libra cusp. For my Scorpio side I say hell yeah! and for my Libra side I just say thank god! A little balance never hurt the crazy person. But either way I’m just packed with emotion. I love exploring all the ways we have to be human. I cry at movies... and some commercials. I scream out gasps when something surprises me. And I get very, very excited! Like I am today. :D

I’m not the typical type of artists in a few ways: like I don’t really draw or paint unless its part of project. And in other ways I am exactly like what you would expect from an artist: my art room and work shop are a disaster area and dead lines kill me. But that’s also a few a of the reasons that Steampunk fits me so well. I first fell in love with it by the sheer awesomeness of turning junk into something so beautiful. I’ve always been into corsets and huge dresses, bustles and garters and hats and fans and gloves. So finding a fashion that incorporated all of that just left me smitten; heart and soul.

I’m not the type of girl to only pull my fantastic clothes out when there is a convention in town, I want to wear what I like all the time. So I started finding and making casual Steampunk clothing and accessories that I can wear any time and any where. I had a blast making items for myself but now having the opportunity to expand and share my work with others as been so incredible. I had such great support from loved ones and just kept fiddling around until at last Live Steamy was born!
